Green Bay Packers Open Training Camp

The Green Bay Packers begin their 91st season of professional football in the National Football League when they open up training camp in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The first scheduled practice is Saturday, July 31. No team in the NFL has held their training camp at the same location as the Packers begin their 53rd consecutive season at nearby St. Norbert College. All practices are held at the practice facilities near Lambeau Field which includes Ray Nitschke Field and the indoor practice facility of Don Hutson Center. Family Night this year is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th as the Packers will hold an intra-squad scrimmage before a sellout crowd at Lambeau Field for the 10th consecutive season. Honestly, Packers training camp is a very unique experience that shows the close relationship between the Green Bay Packers organization and the surrounding community. Other events during camp include Lambeau Field stadium tours, Packer Hall of Fame, Packer’s Experience Playground, Tundra Tailgate Zone, and player autograph sessions. However, the greatest tradition of Packers training camp is when players have the option to either walk or bike to practice. Kids line up outside of Lambeau Field hoping that a Packer’s player will chose to ride their bike to practice while they run closely by carrying their helmet. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience in the NFL. The Packers first preseason game is slated for August 14 as the Cleveland Browns visit Green Bay. GO PACK GO!!!
