Earlier this week, a Blizzard swept through the Upper Midwest and hit the entire state of Wisconsin. A recorded 15.5 inches fell in my hometown of Madison within a 36-hour period. A recorded 14 inches also fell in Appleton. Do not get me wrong, the Summer is a great time for festivals, concerts, and baseball as it is my favorite time of the year. However, my favorite season has to be Winter. There is nothing better than enjoying in winter activities such as skiing, skating, broomball, and sledding. These are some of my best childhood memories from skiing with friends on the Einstein Skii Club on the slopes in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula to skating with my Dad in Madison and lastly sledding for hours on end with friends building jumps and coming up with the idea of seeing who could make it all the up the hill without being knocked down and taken out by people coming down the hill. Playing in the snow is a lot of fun as well. From tackle football to even something as corny as making a Snowman. Also, no individual in their right mind can argue against a white Christmas. It has to be the most beautiful season of year as well. The only thing about the winter season that sucks is simple: shoveling. There is also no better picture of the NFL in my mind than tailgating and attending a Packers game at Lambeau Field with the snow falling. Simply the NFL at its best, period. Football in the elements. I do not know, there is just something about walking out into a snowy, winter day feeling the cold air hit your face. Makes you feel alive. Gets your blood moving. Hmmmmm..........I think my dick just moved. Below are a few of the pics from that winter storm:
