The Chicago Bears made their move this offseason trading for QB Jay Cutler. Bears fans have believed that with the addition of a pro bowl caliber QB that were are now Superbowl contenders. News Flash: THE BEARS STILL SUCK!!! QB Jay Cutler was 17/36 277 yrds 1 TD and 4 INTs including throwing the game-ending INT to CB Al Harris. Hahahahahaha. QB Aaron Rodgers hit WR Greg Jennings for 50-yard TD reception with 1:11 remaining in the game and the Defense held with CB Al Harris INT. Needless to say the Packers switch from the 4-3 to the 3-4 Defense has immediately made a difference only 1 game into the season. The Packers seemed to be blitzing almost every play. Whether from the LB, Safety, or even CB position. The Defense was ruthless. Anytime you can rotate 6 LBs (Hawk, Poppinga, Chillar, Barnett, Matthews, Kampman) at four postions at not have a drop off in the intensity level between the 6 of them.......WOW.......It could be a great year. Yes, it is only the first game of the long and grueling NFL regular season, but it is always good to win a huge Divisional game. The Offense did not look well at times and the protection was suspect at times as QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked, hurried, and hit multiple times, but the unit stepped up when needed as the game was on the line. As stated before the Packers will need to address right OT Allen Barbre as he alone got beat multiple times and at some times during the game even embarrassed as he gave up two sacks alone himself. No matter how many weapons the Packers have on offense if they can not protect, they will not have the time to give QB Aaron Rodgers needs to throw the ball down the field. However, the O-line did make a stand the final drive and did give QB Aaron Rodgers the time he needed to find WR Greg Jennings for the game-winning score. Wins can be hard to come by this league and the Packers will gladly take it. Looking ahead next week the Packers(1-0) welcome the Cincinnati Bengals(0-1) to Lambeau Field. The game will be a lot of fun to watch as my girlfriend and friends are all Bengals fans. Packers could be looking at a fast start to the season as they host Cincinnati and then travel to St. Louis in week 3. One game at a time though. GO PACK GO!!!
